Henry L. Fuqua papers, 1917, 1923-1926.

The Henry L. Fuqua Papers contain a pamphlet of Fuqua's biography and gubernatorial campaign platform, two campaign speeches, a poster, a photograph, and 63 newspaper clippings pertaining to his campaign and political activities during his governorship. Also included is a 1917 pamphlet containing his recommendation for the commutation of life sentences for four prisoners, presented to the Board of Pardons during his term as general manager of the Louisiana State Penitentiary.

Henry L. Fuqua Sr. served as general manager of the Louisiana State Penitentiary (1916-1923) and governor of Louisiana (1924-1926).
